TTU Cheer and Dance Teams bring home national awards 2009

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (April 14, 2009) — Tennessee Tech University’s Cheerleaders and Dancers brought home awards from the 2009 College Cheerleading Championship Nationals in Myrtle Beach in March.
The Co-ed and All Girl cheerleading squads joined together for competition this year and won the title “National Champions 2009” in the Large Co-ed Division.
The TTU Golden Girls dance team was awarded first runner-up in the college hip hop division. Each cheerleader received a championship medal and T-shirt, and the team received a championship banner and trophy that is displayed in the TTU Fitness Center.
The Golden Girls dance team received a first runner-up trophy that will also be displayed in TTU’s Fitness Center.
“We would like to thank Suzann Hensley, David Mullinax, Audrey Cody, Mark Burnett, Misty Pearson, Mark Wilson and the many other individuals on and off campus for all of their help and support of TTU spirit programs throughout the year,” said coach Robin Burroughs.
