Beginner Pilates
Join classically trained Pilate instructor, Petti Groth for this 3 week beginner course where you will build your knowledge of the Pilates Method from the ground up. Whether you a complete beginner or just want to review the fundamentals of Pilates practice, you will gain something useful from this course. The Pilates prinicipals will be covered as well as Pilates body awareness techniques, proper breathing, and some classical exercise sequences of Joseph H. Pilates. Each week's lesson will build upon the week before. You will be given "homework"assignments to build your practice. When you complete the course, you should be prepared to take Pilates classes or embark on your own Pilates practice at home. Petti Groth holds her certification through Pilates Method Alliance.
Pre-registration is required and must be completed by Monday, October 26. Payment and registration can be in the Fitness Center's main office, room 118. For more information, call 372-6210.

HIGH HIPS (Introduction to Bellydance)
Get your hips in gear as you learn the basic bellydance techniques while strengthing your whole body. This class will include shimmies, hip circles and traveling moves that will raise both your confidence and core strength.

UNITED STATES MASTER SWIMMERS
On Thursday night, September 24 at 5:30 PM, there will an informational/show your interest meeting
on the United States Master Swimmers organization. The United States Masters Swimming (USMS) is a national organization that provides organized workouts, competitions, clinics and workshops for adults aged 18 and over. All USMS programs are designed to help swimmers improve fitness and/or train for specific goals, and offer active support for a healthy lifestyle through friendship and camaraderie.
